Notes: After an uncommonly dry, almost arid 2017-18 winter, with minimum precipitation and practically no snow, most vineyards in the Beqaa valley struggled to survive, with some growers reporting a 60% drop in yield. Summer 2018 was equally strange… a moderate climate with large diurnal range where temperatures rarely reached 30° C and dropped to 13-16° C by night, so the grapes were able to reach full maturity while retaining wonderful acidity.
The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is a single vineyard release, hand-harvested from the Rayak area in the Central Beqaa at an altitude of about 950m above sea level. It’s one of our freshest vintages, offering a clear herbaceous / herbal profile of green pepper and thyme accompanied by pronounced citrus aromas of lime, grapefruit and pomelo with hints of kiwi, passion fruit and white peach.
