Label: Middle-Eastern mosaic to indicate the origin of the wine: Lebanon, the colors are based on the aromatic profile of the grape variety and the lack of wood texture indicates that the wine has not been oaked. Designed by Tarek Atrissi.
Notes: After an uncommonly dry, almost arid 2017-18 winter, with minimum precipitation & practically no snow, most vineyards in the Beqaa Valley struggled to survive, with some growers reporting a 60% drop in yield. Summer 2018 was equally strange… a moderate climate with large diurnal range where temperatures rarely reached 30 C & dropped to 13 - 16 C by night, so the grapes were able to reach full maturity white retaining wonderful acidity.
The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is a single vineyard release, hand-harvested from the Rayak area in the Central Beqaa at an altitude of about 950m above sea level. It’s one of our freshest vintages, offering a clear herbaceous / herbal profile of green pepper & thyme accompanied by pronounced citrus aromas of lime, grapefruit & pomelo with hints of kiwi, passion fruit & white peach.
